Ryan Reynolds Confirms Deadpool 3 Is in Development

A ‘Fast and Furious’ Female Spin-Off in Development?

2019 Academy Awards: The Complete List Of Oscar Nominees

By Kelvin Owens

Vin Diesel is revving his engine and gearing up for an all-female Fast & Furious spin-off. Universal’s long-running action franchise has come a long way from its street racing days. Writers Nicole Perlman, Lindsey Beer and Geneva Robertson-Dworet have all reportedly come onboard the “Fast and Furious” franchise with the trio to pen an upcoming female-centric spin-off of the car action series.

The Fast & Furious franchise has moved at breakneck speed since its humble roots with The Fast and the Furious back in 2011. It seems like the road is a long and winding one with plenty of petrol still in the tank. Although there’s no news on what the female-first outing will be about.

Posting on  Instagram, Diesel shared an update and listed the powerful women who are writing the movie. The picture included Diesel alongside his sister/franchise producer Samantha Vincent. Using the opportunity, Diesel welcomed writers Nicole Perlman, Lindsey Beer, and Geneva Robertson-Dworet to the family.

Of the writers, both Perlman and Robertson-Dworet worked on the script for “Captain Marvel” with the former also working on “Guardians of the Galaxy” and the latter on the recent “Tomb Raider” reboot. Beer penned Netflix’s “Sierra Burgess Is A Loser” and will write the upcoming “Ninja Turtles” reboot. All three were also part of Hasbro’s writers room for Paramount’s planned “Transformers” shared universe.
It’s going to be a busy few years for the FF team. Later this year, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham will star alongside Idris Elba for Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. Elsewhere, the whole team will reunite for Fast 9 and supposedly round off the franchise with a tenth main series movie — are you keeping up?
