Elisabeth Moss in Talks to Board Universal's Invisible Man Reboot

Rambo V: Last Blood Gets a September 2019 Release Date

By Kelvin Owens

Universal is planning to move forward with a new strategy for their classic monster characters and Variety sources Elisabeth Moss is in very early talks to star in “Upgrade” writer/director Leigh Whannell’s new take on “The Invisible Man” for Universal Pictures.

Johnny Depp, who was originally tapped to play the title character, will not be involved in the new take and should talks with Moss move forward she would take on the lead role.

Universal’ Invisible Man reboot is part of the studios’ new plan to produce filmmaker-driven projects based on characters from their monsters legacy following the disastrous performance of 2017’s The Mummy. Leigh Whannell will also co-produce the film alongside Jason Blum, who is producing the reboot under his Blumhouse Productions banner.

Are you looking forward to the monsters making a return? Let us know in the comments.
