Legendary Confirms “Dune” As Two Films

According to Variety, the numbers are in and Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Endgame” has demolished box office records worldwide, taking in a stunning $350 million in North America and $1.2 billion worldwide.

The fourth and seemingly final ‘Avengers’ film (for now) accounted for more than four of every five tickets sold domestically and beat its predecessor, “Avengers: Infinity War,” by nearly $100 million domestically and $560 million worldwide. China alone generated an astonishing $329 million over its five-day launch weekend.

Reviews have also been strong with a 96% score from Rotten Tomatoes, second best only to “Black Panther” in terms of Marvel films. Audiences are even more enthusiastic with an A+ CinemaScore.

There was a concern that the film’s three-hour runtime may limit its chances of reaching this astonishing milestone, but it doesn’t seem to have had any impact – especially with exhibitors going out of their way to have 24-hour screenings in quite a few locations so as to meet demand.

The twenty-two films in the series have now taken in more than $19 billion at the worldwide box office.
