Poor ol’ Logan hasn’t even been dead for too long and there is still non-stop discussion about bringing him back to life. X-Men film producer Lauren Shuler Donner has shared some new information about Disney's pending acquisition of certain 21st Century Fox assets, which will bring the X-Men movie rights to Marvel Studios, telling  Deadline Marvel has considered recasting Wolverine for its potential X-Men films.

“Yes, because Hugh, just the physicality of it all, just to bulk up. This man worked so hard to bulk up, would get up at four in the morning to bulk and eat protein meals every two hours because his natural state, they used to call him Worm when he was a kid. So his natural state is a very skinny guy. Once you reach a certain age, the body just won’t go anymore. I think he was wise to say, ‘I’m at that point. I can’t do it.’ Now, that doesn’t mean he can’t come back as older Wolverine. You never know. Future Wolverine, you never know.”

The idea that Marvel would recast Wolverine is not unexpected; Hugh Jackman, who portrayed Wolverine in nine films over almost 20 years, announced his retirement from the role following 2017's Logan which featured the death (in the future) of his version of the character.

No solid plans for Marvel's approach to the X-Men have been announced; Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has maintained that work will not begin on any X-Men films until the X-Men film rights are officially in Marvel's hands. Of course Marvel may not even use Old Wolvverine as much or as in the for front as Fox did. They have made a habbit of putting the lesser knows in the forefront.
